Testimonials

“I entered FCats for the upcoming Tucson shows. My dog injured himself lure coursing a couple weeks ago prompting me to cancel his entries for fcats. I sent several emails, made several phone calls., and left several messages. I got no response. I finally had to get the cluster involved. He told them he had answered me, which is untrue. And I’ve now also been told I have to wait until 10 days AFTER the event before I’ll get my money back. I don’t know a many people who would stand for this. But from talking to many people he has a reputation of doing this to others.”
– Client

“The owner will not return phone calls or respond to emails. He will read your text messages (he has read receipts turned on), but never respond. I emailed John mid April to withdrawal my fastCAT entries for the Rottweiler trial in May, and never got a response. I spoke with him in person at the Rottweiler scent work trial, along with his helper/ girlfriend, and was told by both of them that my refund would be processed in less than a week. Two weeks later I called, left a voicemail, and texted John’s personal number… no response. I had to dispute charges for a fastCAT trial with my credit card company just to get a refund. I would save yourself the headache, and never enter a trial run by John Fisher.”
– Client

“Dog Sports America was recently the host of the Seward, NE FAST CAT trials in early May. Not only were the staff exceptionally knowledgeable and professional, but the event was the best organized FAST CAT trial I have ever seen! The staff went above and beyond to make every dog and handler feel comfortable and perform their best. I look forward to attending many more of their FAST CAT events!”

About the Trainer

Dog Sports America is a dog training business founded by John Fisher, offering training and events for a variety of dog sports including agility, barn hunt, nosework, flyball, rally, obedience, and Fast CAT. They provide both in-person and virtual training sessions, with a fully matted and temperature-controlled facility in Carson City, Nevada, available for rent. John is an AKC Scent Work Judge, Supervising Rat Games Judge, and has trained multiple nationally titled dogs in barn hunt and scent work. They also offer AKC CGC, Trick Dog, and Temperament Test evaluations, both in-person and virtually. Their services include event organization for kennel clubs, with full-service trial management for sports like Fast CAT, Scent Work, and Farm Dog. The business focuses on competitive and performance-based training for dogs of all ages and breeds.

They host multiple Fast CAT events across Texas and California throughout the year and provide online courses for foundational skills. Their facility supports group classes and private training, and they assist clubs in hosting trials with equipment, judges, and administrative support. John’s dogs have earned numerous national titles, including RATCHX certifications, and he has a reputation for high-level barn hunt training.

While some clients praise the quality and organization of their events, others report poor communication, delayed refunds, and unresponsive customer service. Despite this, many participants continue to attend their trials due to the professional execution and expertise demonstrated at events.
