Dog Talk LLC offers Private Training, Behavior Coaching (in-person and Zoom), and Private Therapy Team Training. They no longer offer group classes.
Private Training (PT) is designed for puppies, adolescents, and newly adopted dogs needing socialization and manners (SAM), as well as dog parents seeking guidance. It consists of 5, 1-hour weekly sessions, including teaching, handouts, and Maureen Ross’s book, “Awareness Centered Training – ACT,” plus one follow-up via email or phone. This format provides individualized attention with fewer distractions than group classes.
Behavioral Coaching (BC) is for dogs with ingrained, habitual, or reactive behavior issues that require resolution, change, or modification. This may involve 2-4 sessions or a year or more of commitment, with prevention and management as part of a continued protocol for safety. Online Canine Coaching is available for clients who cannot attend in-person sessions.
All training levels (Level 1 – Beginnings, Level 2 – Moderate, Level 3 – Challenging) integrate skills necessary to pass a Pet Partner’s Licensed Team Evaluation, though no guarantees are given for passing. Training is integrated into daily living, focusing on kindness and effective communication, and includes gentle desensitization and socialization.

About the Trainer
Dog Talk LLC, also known as Dog Talk & Therapet, is a training and wellness sanctuary for dogs and their humans. Their core philosophy revolves around Balance, Relationship, Education, Well-Being, and Choice, aiming to create a fear-free and non-judgmental learning environment for both dogs and people. They emphasize living and learning with dogs, promoting effective communication and behavior shaping through fun and engaging methods.
The business integrates “Awareness Centered Training (ACT),” a methodology developed by founder Maureen Ross, into their private training, behavioral coaching, and pet-assisted therapy team training. ACT is also available as a book. Dog Talk LLC focuses on enhancing canine/human relationships by raising awareness about education, well-being, healthy grooming, veterinary, and wellness alternatives.
They are committed to promoting dogs’ training potential with positive, user-friendly, creative, cost-effective, reliable, and pain-free approaches. Their goal is to empower owners and dogs to think and make informed choices, fostering a motivational, safe, and caring environment. They also inspire continuing education and volunteer opportunities, particularly through their affiliation with New England Pet Partners, Inc., a non-profit co-founded by Maureen Ross that shares pets to enhance well-being and education.
Dog Talk LLC provides gentle, effective skills and insights that can be integrated into daily life, focusing on building a happy, healthy, and confident relationship with one’s dog. They aim to simplify training, reduce sensory overload, and help owners discover how dogs can positively change their lives by awakening their senses.
