Greater Boston Dog offers a balanced, caring, and effective training philosophy aimed at helping owners understand their dogs’ behavior to foster lasting bonds built on trust and respect. Their programs emphasize a dog’s primal need for mental and physical exercise, pack structure, and appropriate affection.
Training services begin with a Behavioral Evaluation Consultation, a 1.5-hour hands-on session costing $150, where trainers assess needs, discuss goals, and devise a plan, immediately addressing high-priority issues. Private Dog Obedience Training addresses common behavior problems like jumping, chewing, digging, nipping, guarding, and anxiety. These private lessons ensure focused attention, with 3-session packages available for $375 at their training center, with additional travel fees for off-site sessions. Obedience levels include Basic (6 commands on a 5ft lead), Intermediate (12 commands on a 5ft lead), and Advanced (12 commands on a 20ft lead). Off-leash obedience and e-collar training are available after completing the advanced program, with e-collars introduced as a communication tool for safety and distance control.
Puppy Training includes Puppy 101, a 2-hour session for puppies 8 weeks and older, covering potty training, behavior, etiquette, imprinting, and loose leash walking for $225. Puppy Obedience Training, offered through private lessons, also addresses common puppy behaviors like biting and nipping. The Imprinting program is designed for new owners to proactively guide their puppy’s development from day one.
Boarding and Training Programs (Board & Train) are offered in 2, 4, and 6-week packages, requiring an initial evaluation and up-to-date vaccinations. All programs include 3 hours of owner training (2 hours upon transfer and a 1-hour follow-up). The 2-week program ($2400) focuses on 6 obedience commands on a 5ft leash and addresses behavioral issues, excluding severe aggression or anxiety. The 4-week ($5000) and 6-week ($7000) programs include 12 off-leash obedience commands using a Dogtra E-Collar, with the 6-week program specifically for dogs with aggressive behaviors, intense anxiety, or fear.
Specialized Training addresses a wide range of issues for adult dogs and puppies, including Behavior Modification for long-standing problems like shyness, fear aggression, separation anxiety, counter-stealing, and excessive barking. They also offer specific training for Dog Behavior and Etiquette, Potty Training/House-breaking (crate or pee pad training), Rescue Dog Training, Socialization, Dog Aggression (resource guarding, fear, human, territorial, play aggression), Chewing, Digging, Jumping, Leash Pulling/Loose Leash Walking, Coprophagia, and Trash Can Raiding. Custom Programs are available for busy clients, offering tailored commands and comprehensive support from breed selection to on-location owner training.

“I think my dog would live here if I let her. The staff is amazing. I love getting the daily pictures showing my girl smiling from ear to ear. She is always exhausted and happy leaving and runs to the door every time she gets out of the car. 10/10 recommended. Would send my closest family and friends here!”
