About the Trainer
Dogology University is a veteran-owned, family-run dog training business located in Canton, Michigan, founded by Matthew Lamarand. Matthew, a former United States Air Force Explosive Detection Dog Handler Veteran and Secret Service K9 Handler for President Obama, started the business in 2008.
He developed a focus-based dog training curriculum to help owners raise well-behaved canine partners without reliance on collars and treats as primary training tools, emphasizing real-world training and building lasting relationships. The business aims to transform dog behavior, offering personalized, e-collar-free methods to build trust and foster lasting changes.
They also dedicate themselves to training dogs for service work and rehoming them for children with diabetes or behavior disorders, and veterans battling PTSD symptoms. They offer Boarding School, Mobile Day School, and Group Classes. They believe in creating calm, confident dogs and prioritize trust, structure, and clear communication to help families and their dogs overcome challenges.
