Testimonials

“I’m still amazed at what Patte did with my Ozzy. I get to enjoy it every minute of every day that I spend with him! Initially, what caught my eye on her website, was seeing Cesar Millan’s name and the fact that she trained personally with “The Dog Whisperer”. The is as close as I’ll ever get to having my dog trained “Cesar’s Way’, and I felt excited that Patte follows his beliefs and training ethics. It’s like I have a whole new dog and we both enjoy our walks now.”
-Jana Lewis, Petaluma

“My husband and I, and our dog, Riley, have taken multiple classes from Patte and the humans enjoy the classes as much as the dogs. It’s great exercise for everyone and with Patte’s help and guidance, the classes built confidence in our dog, which allowed her to overcome many of her fears.”
-Lonnie and Vicky Green, Penngrove

“Patte is an amazing trainer. Her high level of expertise and kind, calm demeanor bring out the very best in our dogs. She is totally reliable and always timely. Whether it is training, exercise and walks, socialization, or dog sitting Patte is the absolute best! Her combination of knowledge and skills and confident, loving, and kind demeanor make her an awesome trainer that the dogs really respond well to. You will not a find a better person to care for and train your dogs. Highly, highly recommend.”

About the Trainer

Dogs in Balance is a professional dog training business serving El Dorado, Placer, and Sacramento Counties, led by certified dog trainer Patte Georgeson. Patte offers personalized training services focused on building a balanced human-canine relationship through structure, leadership, and calmness, inspired by methods learned from Cesar Millan, Sean O’Shea, and Jeff Gellman. She emphasizes that good behavior stems from the dog recognizing the owner as a calm, consistent leader—not just a companion. Services include private in-home training, group classes, board and train programs, dog walking, boarding, grooming, and canine massage. Patte uses balanced training methods, including prong collars and e-collars, to communicate clearly and humanely, avoiding treat-based bribes that can create hyperactivity. Her approach prioritizes improving the dog’s state of mind before teaching commands, leading to lasting behavioral change.

Patte is the sole trainer for all training sessions and personally oversees all board and train programs, ensuring consistency and quality. She provides lifetime follow-up support through video chats and follow-up visits. Her facility offers safe, quiet boarding with crate training, fenced yards, and individualized attention. Clients appreciate her calm demeanor, reliability, and deep expertise in resolving severe behavioral issues like leash reactivity, aggression, and separation anxiety.

In addition to training, Patte provides dog walking, pet boarding, grooming, and canine massage, making her a comprehensive resource for dog owners seeking holistic care and behavior solutions.
