Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Balanced Training
DogSense Obedience offers comprehensive training programs for dogs of all ages and types. Their Day School is a three-part intensive program for puppies, involving two weeks of daily drop-off training, two private lessons, and a 7-week Beginners group class.
They provide 7-week group classes including Level 1 Basic Obedience (covering housebreaking, polite leash walking, recall, place, distraction ignoring, stopping jumping, barking, and chewing, plus sit, down, and stay), Level 2 and 3 Obedience (progressing from Level 1, with the AKC Canine Good Citizen test offered at the end of Level 3), Trick Dog Classes (requiring completion of Level 1 and 2), and AKC Rally (a combination of obedience and agility).
Private lessons are one-on-one sessions tailored to individual dog and owner needs, addressing obedience curriculum and specific behavioral issues such as fearful, stress, or aggressive behaviors. Dogs under Animal Services direction must participate in the private lesson program.
