Eastside Canine Training Center offers a variety of 6-week programs. “Pup Culture” with Lori Woods covers basic obedience like sit, stay, down, and loose-lead healing, along with games to improve communication for puppies. “Beyond Basic Obedience,” also with Lori Woods, focuses on skills for rally or obedience rings, including positive retrieve, hand signals, obedience jumps, and “go-outs.”
“Basic Obedience with CGC/Trick Dog Evaluation Option,” taught by Lori Woods, prepares dogs for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, covering loose-lead walking, greeting strangers and dogs, and extended stays. Agility classes include “Novice Agility” and “Open/Advanced Agility” with Jason Pierce, focusing on handling courses and preparing for shows, while also reinforcing foundations.
Tamara Hagen teaches “Agility Foundation 1” for dogs aged 4 months and up, building early partnership skills, connection, confidence, and body awareness. “Agility Foundation 2,” a prerequisite to Level 1 for dogs 6 months and older, covers obstacle and handling foundations, including jumps, tunnels, crosses, and contact obstacles. Anne Stocum leads the “Introduction to K9 Nosework Class,” teaching dogs to search for specific odors and handlers to read their dog’s alerts, suitable for dogs 6 months and older with an additional supply fee.

Pricing Summary
The price of services is customized based on individual needs, and a quote will be provided after needs are determined, including all applicable taxes and fees. All 6-week classes are priced at $150. Ring rental is available for $20 per hour. For the Introduction to K9 Nosework Class, there are additional supply costs: an introductory kit with Birch Odor is $23, and a complete kit with three odors is $70.
Policies
Cancellations are accepted only prior to the performance of the service, with a full refund issued and no cancellation fee. The business reserves the right to cancel a purchase for any reason, providing 24 hours’ notice and issuing a full refund. Refunds are offered on purchases of services, and requests can be submitted anytime after purchase by contacting the business. Advance payments are also fully refundable if either the client or the business cancels the service.
About the Trainer
Eastside Canine Training Center is a new dog training facility located in the hamlet of West Walworth, NY. They offer a variety of dog training services, including multiple levels of agility training from foundation work for puppies and beginners to advanced classes for seasoned dogs and trainers. They also provide obedience classes ranging from puppy manners and socialization to adult dog training, focusing on improving communication between owners and their canine partners.
The center offers specialized classes for competition obedience and breed competition, teaching skills like proper stacking, gaiting, and ring patterns. Their philosophy emphasizes helping dog owners bond with their dogs and learn to communicate effectively. The goal is to foster a community where new and experienced dog owners and trainers can share ideas and philosophies.
The facility features a 40 x 100 ft space equipped with AKC Agility equipment and obedience jumps, available for practice rentals. The team of trainers includes Lori Woods, the owner, who has a long history in dog training and has observed the evolution of training techniques towards gentler, reward-based methods.
Other trainers include Jason Pierce, an active agility competitor and UKI agility judge with 10 years of experience, and Tamara Hagen, a former high school teacher with 10 years of experience in agility. Anne Stocum, with over 30 years of dog training experience and championship-level agility dogs, teaches K9 Nosework.
Accomplishments
Lori Woods, the owner, began training dogs at age ten and has a 35-year career path after attending The Rochester Institute of Dog Grooming. She was introduced to competitive obedience and agility early in her career and has observed the evolution of dog training techniques towards gentler, reward-based methods.
Jason Pierce has been an active agility competitor for 10 years, competing with his Border Collie, Sierra, from 2011 to 2020 in AKC, USDAA, and UKI. Sierra achieved five championships, including AKC MACH, USDAA ADCH, PDCH, and Lifetime Achievement Award, and UKI IAC 2 and IWAC titles. Jason also trained Sierra for search and rescue and is an UKI agility judge.
Tamara Hagen, a former high school teacher, has 10 years of experience training and competing in agility, trialing in UKI, CPE, and NADAC. Anne Stocum has over 30 years of experience training dogs and has trained multiple championship-level agility dogs. She has studied Nosework for about 3 years and has titled a dog through NACSW levels 1.
