About the Trainer
Egghead Canine Education is a dog training business led by Frozen Belton, a certified professional dog trainer who focuses on positive reinforcement methods to build strong, joyful partnerships between dogs and their owners. They offer personalized training packages for basic obedience, behavior modification, and advanced skills, tailored to individual dogs and families. Their approach emphasizes understanding canine behavior, educating pet parents, and making training a fun, lifelong learning experience. They specialize in helping first-time dog owners, adolescent pups, anxious or leash-reactive dogs, and dogs with quirky behaviors. They also offer group classes for puppies, Canine Good Citizen prep, and manners training in West Philadelphia. They do not work with dogs exhibiting bite histories, human aggression, severe resource guarding, or separation anxiety, but will refer clients to specialists when needed.
Egghead provides training via virtual sessions (Google Meets) and in-person options, with evaluations required before starting any program. They also offer lifelong alumni sessions for past clients and sell branded merchandise to support their mission. Their training philosophy centers on science-based, reward-driven methods that strengthen the human-dog bond.
They are affiliated with the AKC as a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and are members of the Philadelphia Ethical Pet Professionals. Their team includes trained service dog volunteers and has experience working with dogs from rescue and working line backgrounds.
Accomplishments
Frozen Belton is a CPDT-KA and CDTK certified trainer, certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology, and has raised service dogs in training with Canine Partners For Life. They volunteer at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center.
