Embark begins with a $135 consultation to assess the dog’s behavior and set goals. A customized training program is then designed, with day training sessions conducted while the owner is away. Weekly follow-up sessions teach owners how to reinforce skills at home. Programs include Puppy Head Start, Basic Manners, Behavior Modification, and Customized Exercise. Behavior modification often requires long-term commitments and follow-up appointments. About the Trainer
Embark Dog is a dog training and adventure service provider based in the Greater Seattle Area, including the Eastside, offering custom day training and outdoor treks to help dogs burn energy, reduce behavioral issues, and strengthen their bond with owners. Founded in 2002 by head trainer Kris Savoie, Embark focuses on positive reinforcement methods, teaching dogs through patience, rewards, and life-based incentives rather than force. Their day training program trains dogs while owners are away, addressing issues like house-training accidents, barking, jumping, separation anxiety, and aggression. Clients receive weekly coaching sessions to learn how to reinforce skills at home. Embark also offers customized outdoor treks—hiking, swimming, and sniffing adventures—tailored to each dog’s energy level and interests, using only flat collars, anti-pulling harnesses, and head halters. They provide consultations for behavior assessment, puppy development, and group placement for treks. Embark supports local pet product vendors and sells curated, safe, and durable dog supplies including treats, toys, leashes, and training books. They also run the non-profit K.Y.L.A. Project, pairing at-risk youth with shelter dogs, and volunteer with Delta Society/Pet Partners and The Humane Society. Their team includes a licensed attorney and experienced pet sitters, emphasizing compassion, education, and community involvement.
Embark serves dogs of all ages—from puppies to seniors—and specializes in behavior modification, basic manners, and separation anxiety. They offer reduced rates for adopted shelter dogs and provide phone consultations for those outside their service area. Their training is structured, goal-oriented, and designed to create long-term success through consistent family involvement.
Embark’s unique advantage lies in combining professional day training with personalized outdoor adventures, ensuring dogs are mentally and physically fulfilled while owners are at work. Their commitment to positive-only methods, community advocacy, and ongoing education sets them apart from traditional trainers.
