Testimonials
Amber was great to work with. We tried two different trainers before we found Embarking Dogs. We needed some individual training sessions and Amber was willing to work with both of our dogs, and meet with us in our environment, at our home and favorite walking trails. She was knowledgeable and experienced and gave us tools to work towards goals that were important to us. Remmie and Marco say thank you!
– Amber
We have a reactive rescue and took Amber’s reactive dog class. We found the class sessions and supplemental materials very helpful, and have made some progress with the management techniques we learned! We really appreciated having real-life practice opportunities and enjoyed working with Amber. Overall, we would absolutely recommend training with Amber and Embarking Dogs, but we wish they were more responsive to email (we have seen no response to any emails since completing our class).
– Client
I can’t recommend their Puppy Adventure Camp highly enough honestly. I work full time and needed a way to get my pup exercised and socialized, but didn’t want to put him into daycare immediately. I started bringing him to their Puppy Adventure Camp, and it’s been an amazing experience. They work with him on manners, short car rides, socialization, and he gets playtime with a couple of other puppies too. The trainers are positive and keep me informed about his progress and what he does during sessions, as well as give me tips so I can stay consistent with him. I haven’t done their other programs, but Puppy Adventure Camp has been a lifesaver.

About the Trainer
Embarking Dogs is a dog training business led by Amber, who offers personalized training solutions tailored to dog owners’ needs. She provides private in-home and outdoor training sessions on walking trails, as well as group classes including a reactive dog class and a Puppy Adventure Camp. Her approach focuses on positive, practical tools that help owners achieve their goals, with an emphasis on real-life practice and consistency. Amber works with dogs of all ages, including anxious, reactive, and excitable breeds, and keeps owners informed with progress updates and actionable tips. The Puppy Adventure Camp is especially popular for full-time workers seeking socialization, manners training, and light exercise for puppies without full-day daycare.
Amber’s training is highly customized, with flexibility to meet clients in their own environment, and she is praised for her knowledge, passion, and effective communication. While clients love the results and supportive atmosphere, some have noted slow email responsiveness after program completion.
In addition to training, Embarking Dogs offers structured programs that include supplemental materials and ongoing support to reinforce learning.
How to Get Started!
