For the Pet Tech Instructor Training course, refunds are not given if a participant is unable to attend; however, they may attend a future class.

Encompass Canines was started in 2021 with the belief that dog training should be fun and realistic for both the human and canine. Their goal is to provide a safe place for dogs and their humans to learn, grow, and play in a positive way that fits their needs, enhancing the relationship and bond between them, and resulting in well-behaved partnerships. They aim to highlight what each person and their dog can achieve through positive training techniques and atmosphere.

Krista Kurvers, the owner and trainer, has created an indoor training facility called “The Doghouse” and an outdoor playground called “Kamp Kapper Playground.” She is a certified professional dog trainer, Master Pet First Aid / CPR Instructor, and AKC Evaluator, with over 25 years of experience training dogs of all sizes and abilities.

Encompass Canines offers private training sessions tailored to individual needs and interests, covering manners and obedience, obstacles/confidence courses, AKC Canine Good Citizen training and testing, fit and balance, scent work, and tricks. They also provide open time in their indoor and outdoor spaces for play, leash work, obedience, and confidence building.

Additionally, they offer various pet first aid and CPR classes, including a 5+ hour class, an 8-hour PetSaver™ class (which covers dental and senior care), and a three-day Pet Tech Instructor Training course. They also provide a 90-minute presentation on hiking and walking safely with your dog.

Accomplishments

Krista Kurvers, the owner and trainer, has over 25 years of experience in dog training. She is a certified professional dog trainer (CCPDT-KA), a Master Pet First Aid / CPR Instructor (Pet Tech), and an AKC Evaluator.

Krista began her official training career in 1996 under the mentorship of Bev Swartz of All Purpose Canines and Tuf-E-Nuf Kennels. Her background includes working as a K-9 handler and an Animal Control Officer. She has also been involved with Code 3 Associates, traveling nationally to teach animal welfare professionals, law enforcement, shelters, rescues, and first responders.
