Testimonials
“Training with Eric was extremely helpful. We have a high energy two year old husky, who, as you can expect, can be stubborn. Our main goal was for reliable recall off leash. After just a few training sessions with Eric, we were able to establish the priority of our commands not only in the home, but also in active outdoor situations (other dogs, animals, people).
Eric has a kind and relaxed manner that made us comfortable while also providing an extremely effective way of coaching. He incorporates techniques to make training fun for both the owners and the dog! We simply cannot thank Eric enough!”
-Meredith, Brighton, MA
“After rescuing our dog, Buck, we realized we needed help. We were excited to find Eric, who we believe rescued us! He is super passionate about his training and brings so much knowledge to the sessions. He does a great job explaining the how and why behind a dog’s behavior and what the next steps are for compliance. Buck used to nip, jump, bark consistently, and now we see that he understands and listens to what we ask of him. Eric has passed off his knowledge to us which we continue to implement every day. I am not sure what we have done without Eric!”
-Larissa, Medford, MA
“Eric was recommended to us by a neighbor and we’re so thrilled we got his information. Our pup Dexter came to us as a 6 month old rescue, he had been passed around to a couple families and was a little anxious and very rambunctious. We tried a couple K9 training programs around us but nothing stuck. His recall was non-existent.
Eric took the time to come to our home, learn about our dog, our lifestyle and what we were trying to achieve through training. His approach of learning, motivation and obedience through play, interaction and trust worked perfectly for us.
In a few short sessions Dexter’s recall and behavior improved dramatically. Eric’s instruction on how to use an e-collar was a lifesaver. We now enjoy many leash-less walks as a family. Whether you’re looking to train a new pup or refresh your grown dog’s skillset, Eric is the person for you. We’ve recommended him to families throughout the north shore and will continue to!”

About the Trainer
Eric Temple Dog Training is a personalized dog training service based in Greater Boston that focuses on building a cooperative, trust-based relationship between dogs and their owners through play, teamwork, and mutual respect. Eric uses a positive, reward-based approach rooted in the Training Without Conflict (TWC) methodology, certified by renowned trainer Ivan Balabanov. He offers in-home training, virtual coaching, and one-on-one lessons designed to address behaviors like recall, leash pulling, reactivity, resource guarding, and jumping. His Homeschool Training program is a 5-week intensive where he trains the dog while the owner is at work, with weekly progress reviews. Eric emphasizes emotional well-being for both dog and owner, tailoring each plan to the dog’s personality and the family’s lifestyle. He works with dogs of all ages and types, including rescues and high-energy breeds, and prioritizes making training fun and sustainable through daily reinforcement.
Eric has hands-on experience training foster dogs through Last Hope K9 Rescue, which inspired him to start his business. He owns two dogs himself — Oscar, a Pitbull Chihuahua mix, and Stella, a Boxer — and applies his real-world experience to every session. His clients report dramatic improvements in behavior, increased confidence, and stronger bonds with their dogs after working with him.
Eric also provides guidance on equipment use, including e-collars, and never pressures clients into methods they’re uncomfortable with. He helps owners understand the “why” behind dog behavior, empowering them to maintain progress long after training ends.
