Exceptionally Obedient Dogs offers a range of training programs, primarily focusing on immersion-style Board and Train packages where dogs live with the trainer’s family. These programs include:

Paw-fect Puppy: A 5-day program for puppies under 6 months, focusing on positive reward systems for socialization, potty training, crate training, leash walking, and basic obedience. It includes one private lesson and lifetime support.

Leash Legends: A 2-week program for social, confident dogs over 6 months, teaching on-leash obedience (loose leash heel, sit, down, place). It includes one private lesson, lifetime support, and access to refresher training and boarding.

Off Leash Essentials: A 3-week program for social, confident dogs over 6 months, covering both on and off-leash obedience (loose leash heel, sit, down, place, recall). It includes one private lesson, an ET-300 Remote Collar, lifetime support, and access to refresher training and boarding.

The ultimate family dog: A 4-week program for social, confident dogs over 6 months, teaching on and off-leash obedience. Dogs train Monday through Friday at the trainer’s home and spend weekends with their owners. This program includes four private lessons, an ET-300 Remote Collar, lifetime support, and access to refresher training and boarding.

Behavior Modification: A minimum 4-week immersion program tailored for dogs with aggression (dog or human), separation anxiety, or a history of biting. It includes 1-4 private lessons, training equipment, and lifetime support.

One-on-One Training: Private hourly sessions available at the trainer’s facility or the client’s home (for an additional fee). These customizable sessions cover various issues including on/off-leash obedience, aggression, potty training, barking, and crate training.

Group Classes: An invitation-only Protection Sport Association (PSA) group meets on Thursday afternoons and evenings, requiring a prior one-on-one lesson.

Specialty Training: Private lessons are offered for those interested in PSA, tracking, wounded game recovery, agility, and other disciplines.

Pricing Summary

Private one-on-one training sessions are $100 per hour. Boarding services include basic boarding at $50/day and Boarding Refresher at $100/day.

Board and Train packages vary by program: Paw-fect Puppy is $500, Leash Legends is $1500, Off Leash Essentials is $2000, and The ultimate family dog is $2500. Behavior Modification programs start at $2500+.

Exceptionally Obedient Dogs LLC, founded in July 2021 by Joshua Osting, is a locally owned small business dedicated to helping dogs and their families live exceptional lives in the Northwest Ohio area. Josh’s passion for dog training began in 2015, leading him to establish a unique immersion-style program where dogs live with his family and pack, serving as role models.

This approach allows dogs to learn in a home environment and practice skills in real-world settings with everyday distractions. The business aims to help dog owners “speak” their dog’s language through consistent training and clear communication, fostering a stronger bond.

Beyond training, Exceptionally Obedient Dogs also offers pet boarding services. They cater to various training needs, from basic obedience to complex behavior modification, and even specialized training for protection sports and hunting.

Accomplishments

Joshua Osting is a Master Dog Trainer and the founder of Exceptionally Obedient Dogs LLC, established in July 2021. His passion for dog training began in 2015.

Josh is a graduate of Tarheel Canine School For Dog Trainers, where he completed the Master Dog Trainers course. During his training, he gained hands-on experience with a wide range of dogs, including pet dogs, police dogs, and Military Working Dogs. He furthered his education in canine learning theory, covering basic and off-leash obedience, scent detection, tracking, and protection work. He also learned techniques to reform aggressive dogs.

Josh is an upper-level PSA competitor with his dog, Henry, and has been a certified trial decoy since 2023. He continues to learn advanced training techniques for specialized fields such as Protection Sports and other dog competitions.

How to Get Started!

To begin, interested clients are encouraged to fill out an online questionnaire. For Behavior Modification programs, an evaluation is required. Board and Train programs have direct “Start Now” links to the questionnaire. For the Protection Sport Association group, a one-on-one lesson is required before joining.
