Fair Feather Retrievers

Fair Feather Retrievers offers comprehensive training services, including Gun Dog Training and Obedience Training. Gun Dog Training provides the foundation for successful hunting, field trials, and hunt tests, emphasizing both obedience and performance. This program develops specialized skills such as retrieving, scent recognition, and steadying to shot, and includes tune-up training for dogs previously trained with FFR or other kennels.

Obedience Training is available for all breeds starting at 6 months of age. This 8-week program covers essential on and off-leash commands like Sit, Heel, Here, Place, and Kennel. The program also incorporates socialization with other dogs, promoting manners and respectful behavior in various situations.

Policies

For boarding services, pets should arrive and depart by 4:30 PM. The office is closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve, though staff continues to care for pets in the kennels on these holidays.

Owners must provide their dog’s food with feeding instructions and any necessary medications with specific written instructions. All dogs must have current vaccinations for Canine Influenza Vaccine, Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella, with a paper copy of vet records provided upon drop-off. All tours and visits require an appointment due to a full training schedule.
