Testimonials
Had the privilege of watching these dogs work today supporting the down east pheasant hunting. These dogs are champions, disciplined and got after it. We hunted for 3 hours and these dogs never quit. I don’t think I saw the dogs miss a single retrieve. Spectacular to watch them work. Wish I had the time, money and experience to have a dog like theirs.

What an outstanding place!! Blake and family were the awesome hosts! Beautiful training grounds and a pleasure to train together, look forward to doing it all over again in the future.

I spoke with several breeders before contacting Blake at Feather Points… His dogs can still run trials if that’s your thing and they have plenty of titles to prove it, but he strives for a dog that is both driven with a natural desire to retrieve yet is also very manageable having the elusive “On/Off Switch”. Feather Point doesn’t disappoint whether it’s just finding a great pup, or training them to live up to their potential.

About the Trainer
Feather Point Retrievers is a dog training and breeding business located in eastern North Carolina, specializing in quality pointing Labrador Retrievers with strong pedigrees. They offer comprehensive dog training programs ranging from basic obedience to advanced gun dog and hunt test preparation, designed for both hunting companions and family pets. Their training philosophy emphasizes producing balanced dogs with a natural retrieving drive and an “on/off switch” that allows them to be both driven in the field and calm at home. Training is conducted on their 100-acre farm featuring three training ponds, varied terrain, live quail and duck exposure, and an indoor facility for year-round training. They provide one-on-one instruction for handlers and focus on building a solid obedience foundation as the key to long-term success. Their services include board-and-train programs for basic obedience, retriever training, and upland hunting preparation.
In addition to training, they breed and sell puppies with health clearances and titled parents, ensuring trainability and temperament. They also offer training videos, merchandise, and host events like the Triple Crown competitions. Their team, led by Blake and Landin Haddock, is recognized in the hunting and dog training community, with features in Washington Magazine and positive reviews from clients who value their balanced, family-oriented approach to dog development.
