Lori, the founder and head trainer, holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Bemidji State University, with research focused on Human-Animal Interaction. She completed a 6-month full-immersion animal training apprenticeship through the Animal Behavior Academy in Colorado, training canines, equines, alpaca, and cattle. Lori is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the CCPDT, a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and AKC Temperament Test (ATT) Evaluator through the American Kennel Club. She is a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). Lori is also a contributing author to the book “Prison Dog Programs: Renewal and Rehabilitation in Correctional Facilities” and has attended the Aggression in Dogs Conference and completed the Aggressive Dog Defensive Handling Course and Master Course taught by Michael Shikashio.

How to Get Started!

New clients for private lessons must begin with a behavior consultation, which is held via Zoom. To inquire about training, prospective clients need to fill out a contact form including a detailed description of behaviors, desired training type, dog’s age(s) and breed(s), and any behavior concerns like aggression, reactivity, anxiety, or resource guarding. They also ask for preferred days and times for consultations (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays between 10a and 5:30p) and preference for online vs. in-person training.
