About the Trainer
Fido Finishing School is a dog training program located in Mandeville, Louisiana, founded and owned by Julie Hill in 1995. The school’s mission is to enhance the enjoyment dog owners have with their canine companions by providing training that helps dogs become well-behaved.
Initially, Fido Finishing School offered puppy and adult dog basic obedience, as well as competition obedience classes. Five years after its establishment, agility classes were added to the curriculum. Currently, the school also offers Rally Obedience and Canine Good Citizen training classes.
The school caters to a variety of training needs, ranging from basic house manners and puppy training to Canine Good Citizen certification, and advanced training for competitive obedience or agility dogs. Both group classes and private sessions are available to meet individual needs.
Accomplishments
Fido Finishing School was established in 1995 by its founder and owner, Julie Hill. The school has a history of producing many canine alumni who have achieved successful careers in various fields, including Service Dog, Search and Rescue, Therapy Dog, Agility, Obedience, Conformation, Tracking, Herding, Field Trials, and Earthdog Trials.
Notable dogs associated with the school include Smartie, the 2012 24″ National Agility Champion; MACH2 Race UDX, OM1, MXF; OTCH MACH3 Chamber UDX6; OTCH Lily UDX, TD, OA, OAJ, JC; and CH Lark CDX, TDX, NA, NAJ, MT.
