First Mate K9 Academy offers one-on-one instruction, providing real-time feedback on handling skills, training techniques, and communication. Classes are 1 hour long and take place at their facility in Guntersville, AL. The whole family is welcome to attend, and participants should bring yummy treats.

For behavior modification classes like Socialization + Manners, training may occur in public settings such as Sunset Walking Trail, Guntersville State Park, or the dog park at the Sand Mountain Park recreation center in Albertville, after initial facility classes. These public sessions also last 1 hour, weather permitting, and address concerns like reactivity, distractions, and greeting strangers.

House calls are available for various situations, including separation anxiety or aggression, or for those who prefer training at home. These appointments generally last 2 hours. Clients receive new knowledge and reading materials for additional help with training goals. Take-home handouts and homework are sent home weekly to ensure training stays on track.
