The Puppy Program, lasting 1-2 months for dogs 12 weeks and older, focuses on crucial socialization and prey-drive development, introducing puppies to various environments, sounds, water, and gunshots to build confidence. Formal Obedience, a 2-month program, addresses common behavioral issues like biting, chewing, and leash pulling, progressing from on-leash training with prong collars to off-leash control using e-collars, emphasizing decision-making and correctional conditioning in distracting environments.

The Gundog programs are structured in phases: Started Gundog (4-5 months), Seasoned Gundog (6-7 months), and Finished Gundog (8-10 months). The Started Gundog program focuses on basic obedience, socialization, force fetch, and marking, aiming for a “meat dog” that is steady to gun and retrieves reliably. The Seasoned Gundog program builds on this by introducing advanced handling concepts like T-drills, pattern blinds, and complex marking scenarios, preparing dogs for intermediate hunting situations.

The Finished Gundog program is the most advanced, developing superb steadiness, enduring memory, pinpoint marking accuracy, and complete handling control for challenging hunting scenarios and AKC/HRC venues. This level involves multi-marks, cold blinds, and advanced concepts like angled “backs” and pushing memory banks. Throughout all programs, owner involvement is encouraged, with scheduled visitation and training sessions to ensure a smooth transition home.

Pricing Summary

All training programs (Puppy, Formal Obedience, Started Gundog, Seasoned Gundog, Finished Gundog) are priced at $700 per month, with payment due at the end of each month.

Grooming services include a standard package (bath, trim, brushing, blowout) at $50 for dogs 1-25 lbs, $85 for 26-55 lbs, and $115 for 56 lbs and up. A bath-only service is $35. Additional grooming services like nail trim, eye cleaning, ear cleaning, and flea/tick treatment are available for $5-$10 each. Discounted grooming prices are offered for dogs that are boarded or in training: $40 (1-25 lbs), $75 (26-55 lbs), $105 (56+ lbs), and $25 for bath only.

Pet daycare and boarding are charged at $20 per day per dog. Food is not included, and an additional fee of $5 per day applies if food is not provided by the owner.

Accomplishments

Morgan McManus was inspired to pursue dog training after a duck hunt in 2012, where he witnessed the impressive obedience and retrieving skills of a trained black lab named Trixie. This experience ignited his passion to train dogs for life. He has since trained “hundreds of dogs, including almost every breed of bird dogs and mixed breeds to even odd ball breeds.”
