Francis Field Dog Obedience School offers various training programs including Drop In Obedience, Rally Training Class, and Puppy to Intermediate Individualized Training Lessons. Drop In Obedience is available Monday afternoons and Tuesday mornings, featuring 15 minutes of individual ring time or run-throughs, with group heeling sessions.

Rally Training Classes are held Monday evenings from September through May, facilitated by AKC Rally Judge Dr. Sandy Gould. Individualized training lessons are available Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings. The September 2023 – May 2024 rally sessions are currently filled, with registration for the September 2024 – May 2025 session opening in August 2024.

Pricing Summary

Training sessions are $10.00 per person for drop-in obedience, rally training, and individualized lessons. An additional $10.00 is charged for extra 15-minute utility ring time.

Policies

Francis Field Dog Obedience School enforces a strict dog bite policy, reserving the right to ban any dog that has attempted to attack a person or dog, or has shown unprovoked aggression. Dogs with a bite history are not permitted to train at the school.

They offer a variety of class formats including drop-in obedience sessions, rally training classes, and individualized training lessons for puppies to intermediate-level dogs.

The school boasts highly experienced instructors, including Lynn Heidinger, Dianne Allen, and Dr. Sandy Gould, all of whom have extensive backgrounds in AKC competition and judging. Lynn Heidinger is particularly notable for her multiple AKC National Obedience Championship wins and for having dogs ranked in the AKC Top Ten All Breed Lifetime Obedience points.

Francis Field Dog Obedience School maintains a strict dog bite policy, prohibiting any dog with a history of aggression or biting from training at their facility to ensure a safe environment for all participants.

Accomplishments

Lynn Heidinger, a trainer since 1968, has earned 7 Obedience Trial Champion (OTCH) titles and won the AKC National Obedience Championship in 1995, 1999, and 2000. She also won the ‘Obedience Dog Of The Year’ Award in 2001, and her dog Tapper won ‘Dog Of The Year’ awards in 2016, 2017, and 2019. As of November 2022, she has accumulated 757 High In Trial’s, over 866 High Combined Awards, 28 Perfect “200” Scores, and 24,836 OTCH points, and is the only person to have three dogs ranked in the AKC Top Ten All Breed Lifetime Obedience points.

Dianne Allen has been showing dogs for over 49 years and obtained her AKC Obedience Judging License in 1989. She has achieved numerous titles with her Belgian Tervurens, including 1 Best In Show (BIS), 9 Best In Specialty Show (BISS), 5 OTCH’s, 6 Master Agility Champion (MACH), 7 Champion (CH), 2 Grand Champion (GCH), and 1 Tracking Dog Excellent (TDX), along with various Obedience, Herding, and Rally titles.

Dr. Sandy Gould is an American Kennel Club Rally Judge who has been invited to judge at the AKC Rally Invitational and the Poodle Club of America National Specialty trials. She has trained and shown standard poodles in multiple disciplines including Rally, Obedience, Agility, Nose Work, and Barn Hunt.
