The Fremont Dog Training Club offers a variety of obedience and rally classes for dogs of all breeds and ages 4½ months and older. Classes are held at their facility and focus on positive reinforcement techniques.
The Beginning Class covers basic commands like Sit, Stay, Down, Heeling, and Come, and addresses common behavior issues such as chewing, barking, and jumping. Intermediate and Novice classes build upon these skills, introducing more advanced techniques like off-leash heeling, recall, and group stays, preparing dogs and handlers for competition.
The Open and Utility classes are for advanced teams, focusing on off-leash work, retrieving, jumping, and scent discrimination. Conformation classes teach handlers how to present their dogs for show, while Rally classes involve navigating a course with obedience instructions, emphasizing continuous movement and communication. Most classes are 6 one-hour sessions, held weekly, with some advanced classes offered as weekly drop-ins.
