- ✓ Food Rewards
- ✓ Harnesses
- ✓ Flat Collars
Home and Virtual Training sessions address a variety of topics including routines, schedules, reading dog body language, basic obedience, proofing cues, and solving problem behaviors such as chewing, digging, barking, house soiling, mouthing, and jumping. They also cover crate training, separation anxiety, fear/anxiety-rooted issues like leash or barrier reactivity, and resource guarding. Virtual training may have some limitations due to the lack of hands-on interaction.
Boarding Training, currently unavailable, is designed to jumpstart a dog’s training over a standard ten-day period, including four home sessions. Skills built include Sit, Down, Stay, Wait, Leave it, Drop it, Loose leash walking, Recall, and Place. This program is not a complete fix for manners issues, requiring continued reinforcement from the owner. Dogs must be kennel and potty trained, and reactive dogs are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Specialty Boarding, also temporarily unavailable, caters to current and past clients with dogs that struggle in traditional boarding environments. This includes shy, fearful, or anxious dogs, those with a bite history, escape artists, fear reactive dogs, and dogs with dog-dog aggression. Dogs must be kennel and house trained, but those with separation issues cannot be accommodated due to significant kennel time.
The training methodology is strictly force-free, utilizing positive reinforcement (R+) and negative punishment (P-). Techniques include counter-conditioning, desensitization, shaping, capturing, and luring. The trainer explicitly avoids shock collars, prong collars, choke chains, yelling, leash pops, alpha rolls, setting dogs up to fail, flooding, and other physical corrections, emphasizing that dominance theory is debunked.
Pricing & Policies
Pricing Summary
Home or virtual training sessions are approximately $150 per hour, with discounted packages available. Boarding training is approximately $175 per night per dog, and specialty boarding is about $125 per night. A non-refundable deposit is required for virtual phone consultations.
Policies
A non-refundable deposit is required for virtual phone consultations to mitigate no-shows. Boarding and boarding training services are temporarily unavailable as the trainer plans to train a new puppy. For boarding services, dogs must be kennel and potty trained. Dogs with separation anxiety are not accepted for either boarding training or specialty boarding due to the significant kennel time involved. Reactive dogs are accepted for boarding training on a case-by-case basis. Both boarding options are limited to one family at a time and are not doggie daycare services. If a dog does not meet the boarding requirements, the trainer offers referrals to other pet sitters, boarding facilities, or daycares.
About the Trainer
Full Pawtential Dog Training is owned and operated by Megan Danitz, a certified dog trainer based in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Megan founded the business in 2007 and has been providing dog training services for 18 years. She is a “crossover trainer,” meaning she transitioned from using balanced methods to exclusively positive and force-free training techniques.
Megan’s philosophy centers on building trust and using rewards to reinforce desired behaviors, avoiding punishment, fear, or intimidation. She specializes in working with “difficult” cases and dogs that have been turned away by other trainers, including those with reactivity, fear, anxiety, and a bite history.
Services offered include home training and virtual training sessions, addressing a wide range of issues from basic obedience and puppy training to complex behavioral problems like separation anxiety, resource guarding, and leash reactivity. While boarding training and specialty boarding services are currently unavailable, they typically focus on jumpstarting skills and managing dogs with specific behavioral challenges.
Full Pawtential Dog Training is insured and PACFA licensed, and is proudly woman-owned and LGBTQIA+ owned. Megan also networks with other trainers and veterinary behaviorists to provide comprehensive support and referrals when needed.

How to Get Started!
To begin, interested clients for home or virtual training must first book a free phone consultation to discuss their needs and options. Following this consultation, a home assessment of the dog’s behavior will be conducted. Denver-area residents should book a phone consultation, while out-of-area clients should book a virtual consultation. For boarding services, clients must contact the trainer directly to clear dates before attempting to book online, as online calendars may not reflect actual availability.
