Accomplishments

Garden State K9 is the winner of A&E’s hit series America’s Top Dog: Season 1. The business is led by Michelle and Mike McMahon, both highly accomplished trainers.

Michelle McMahon graduated “First in Class” from the Tom Rose School’s Master Dog Trainer Program and is a 2009 PSA 1 National Champion and 2010 PSA 2 Vice National Champion. She has trained dogs to the highest levels of AKC Obedience, Agility, Schutzhund, and PSA, consistently scoring “V” ratings in competitions. Her honors include National Champion, High in Trial, High in Obedience, High in Protection, High Handler Owner Trainer, and Decoy’s Choice Award. She consults for other training establishments, shelters, and rescues, and has developed programs for various facilities. Michelle is also an AKC certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and certified in Pet First Aid.

Mike McMahon is the winner of A&E series America’s Top Dog: Season 1 and has over 10 years of experience as a Patrol and Specialty K9 Handler. He is a NJ AG Supervising Canine Trainer and USPCA Patrol and Detection Trainer. Mike is a certified Trial helper and decoy for PSA, Schutzhund, and Service Dogs of America, and a 2x Regional and 1x National Select PSA Decoy. He also graduated “First in Class” from the Tom Rose School’s Master Dog Trainer Program. Mike has trained and certified dozens of teams in detection, obedience, protection, tracking, and search and rescue, and is an AKC certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and certified in Pet First Aid. He has received numerous honors in AKC, Schutzhund, and PSA competitions, including High Handler, Owner, Trainer Award, High in Trial Award, High in Obedience Award, and High in Protection Award.
