Testimonials

After losing our 13 year old lab, we were heart broken. Getting a new puppy seemed like a good idea, but we underestimated the task of training her. GABOC was wonderful! Staff were obvious dog lovers. They patiently answered questions about my puppy’s life. They gave us a handout for suggested work at home each week. This was so valuable.I highly recommend this class to anyone who has a young dog.
– Linnea H., Wheaton

Luca and I originally took both the puppy and beginner classes offered through GABOC due to their location. However, the patience and knowledge that the instructors shared are second to none! Luca’s skills quickly improved with the fun, weekly homework tips!
– Tracie C., West Chicago

I’ve brought a number of my dogs to Glenbard over the past few years. Like a number of dog clubs, some of the instructors are exploring and embracing new teaching methods. The location is convenient and they offer a full range of classes from beginning puppies, all levels of competition obedience, rally and confirmation. Any dog is welcome, no matter what breed or mix.
– LK, Carol Stream

About the Trainer

Glenbard All Breed Obedience Club (GABOC) is a not-for-profit, all-volunteer dog training organization with over 60 years of experience. They offer group obedience, rally, conformation, and puppy training classes at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, IL. Classes are structured in 8–10 week sessions and include AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and Canine Good Citizen preparation. They also provide drop-in rally classes and correction matches to help dogs and owners prepare for AKC trials. Their training method is based on positive reinforcement, and they welcome all breeds and mixed dogs. Members are experienced club volunteers who train and show dogs in obedience, agility, therapy, herding, and tracking. While they do not offer agility classes due to space limitations, they host three annual agility trials at other venues. They also offer scentwork, conformation, and tracking programs.

GABOC emphasizes community and practical training, with weekly homework assignments and supportive instructors. Their facilities are used for group training, ring rentals, and trial events. They do not offer private, in-home, or board-and-train services.
