Gold Star Dog Training offers several programs. The AKC Star Puppy Program is a 6-week class for dogs 8 weeks to 7 months old, focusing on house training, mouthing, recall, basic commands like sit and down, socialization, and accepting handling. The Obedience class is also 6 weeks, typically for dogs 7 months and older, covering consistency, advanced commands like down and stay, loose leash walking, and managing distractions.

The AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program is a 6-week course designed to prepare dogs for the 10-step CGC test, emphasizing good manners at home and in the community, including off-leash work. The Therapy Dog class is a 3-week program for dogs 11 months and older with CGC certification (recommended), covering guidelines for therapy dogs, proper behavior during visits, and includes actual nursing home visits. All classes require reservations and confirmation to attend.

Pricing Summary

Classes are $100 each for a 6-week program, except for the Therapy Dog class which is $100 for a 3-week program. An additional $20 testing fee and member fee for Bright and Beautiful is the student’s responsibility for the Therapy Dog class.

Policies

You must reserve your place in class and receive confirmation to attend. Sending in your paperwork does not guarantee a spot in the class. Reservations can only be made for posted classes.
