Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Balanced Training

Equipment:

  • E-Collars
  • Obstacle Courses

Good Dog OC’s training philosophy is innovative and interactive, aiming to build an incredible relationship between the dog and owner based on clarity, focus, and trust. Their programs are results-based, not hourly, and they guarantee to work with clients until their goals are met, even if it takes longer than the typical one to two weeks, without additional cost.

The initial part of the training often involves the trainer working directly with the dog to ensure the dog understands commands. Once the dog is ready, the owner is taught how to continue practicing at home. The trainers emphasize that they do not “reprogram” or “rewire” a dog’s brain, nor do they aim to change a dog’s personality or scare them. Instead, they focus on positive reinforcement and praise-based rewards, teaching dogs that love and affection are sufficient incentives.

Testimonials

“I cannot thank Adam enough for the changes in behavior I’m already seeing. I’ve dropped a good amount of $$$$ on prior trainers who “specialized in mini Aussies”- who “swore they could get past her anxiety.” Tried day schooling. I even had a vet tell me to go to a dog psychiatrist who was $500 for a 1/2 hour session. Misa is scared of everything and has massive stranger danger fears. Car rides give us both a headache, and even trying to walk her to and from the car is a chore (so imagine daily walks). After 2 months of working with Adam, we decided to take a trip up to Big Bear. This was the easiest time (1) getting her in and out of the car, (2) car ride in general, and (3) mini stop for stretch break. I know it will only get better as she get in this new routine. His methods are positive training based, and you can tell he genuinely loves all the dogs he works with. Like I said, Misa is scared of everything, but she likes him. ‍♀️ I regret not starting her with him from the beginning. And yes, he’s worth the cost because it works. Dog: mini Aussie (f) Age: 3 years old. PS. Yes, my consult was also over the phone, but Adam gave so much information initially FOR FREE. Lots of basic training tips and tricks, so even if I didn’t choose to go with him, he still leaves you with tips to make your dog better. Who else would do this except someone who just wants the best for dogs?”

“Adam trained my unruly 50 lb doodle and completely changed my life. My dog is now a service dog who walks on a loose leash, listens to every command, and can perform deep pressure therapy for me. I am so grateful for Good Dog OC. I recommend Adam & Good Dog OC to everyone who stops to ask me how I got our dog to be so perfect. ECollar training has been a game changer! Thank you, Adam!”

“To be honest I’m not quite sure where to begin other than it all started with a free consult. Our dog Duke is a 4/5 year old adopted Am Staff terrier who we believe was probably abused at some point in his life. He has a hard time trusting certain people and definitely has some serious dog reactivity & occasional dog aggression issues. Over the last year we have spent thousands of dollars in training, countless hours working with various trainers, emotionally invested nights and even to the point of tears and wondering if we would ever have a dog we could simply walk without ripping our arm off, pulling me over or being too aggressive in certain situations. We were at one point told “just put him down, he will never change”. Then we met Adam and our lives literally changed. … After 3 weeks of intensive training with Adam and his rockstar partner Kara, we embarked on our journey walking and working with him every day. … I can say confidently that i can walk my dog directly by my side and in various distraction settings. … I can say 100% honestly i would’ve paid double, even triple. It has been worth EVERY single penny.”
