Testimonials
“Having lost a beloved dog because she would not “come” when called, I decided not to mess around training our new puppy. I was very clear with my goals and expectations in how I wanted/needed help with our puppy. Hillary was awesome. She observed our home and setup, listened to my concerns and got back to me with a proposal. Our puppy is happier now that she knows what is expected of her. She is calmer and safer. I’m grateful Hillary is available if and when I need a refresher! Thank you Hillary.”
– Katie S.
“The fact that Hillary has not one, but three, well behaved small dogs impresses me. The proof is before our very eyes. Balanced training works. Let Hillary teach you how to teach your dog what yes AND no mean and you will have happy well behaved dog too!”
– Nikole F.
“With Hillary’s guidance, my dog Henry has transformed from being highly reactive, to a dog with a calm state of mind. With her help and training, Henry now has structure and our walks have gone from severely tense and explosive to calm and enjoyable. Her training philosophy works. Thank you Hillary. I can’t say it enough!”
– Erica C.
About the Trainer
Good Wellesley Dogs Training grew from the owner’s personal struggle to find effective training strategies for her family dogs. Hillary Ratcliff Pini, the owner and trainer, discovered a “common-sense missing link” in 2015 that transformed her approach to dog communication. The business officially started offering services after requests from family and friends who observed her methods.
Good Wellesley Dogs specializes in teaching good behavior and addressing annoyance pet problems, focusing on helping owners live a better and more fulfilling life with their dogs through simple leadership exercises. They emphasize that a dog is “trained” by how you live with them 24/7, aiming for a well-behaved dog that is calm inside but enthusiastically plays when appropriate.
Hillary is a lifelong Wellesley resident, a Montessori preschool teacher, and a mother of five. She has studied with respected balanced trainers in the United States. The training focuses on real-world manners like walking nicely on a leash, waiting patiently for food, settling down, and waiting for permission to go out doors. They do not work with territorially aggressive or biting dogs.
