Goodladd offers Private Lessons, At Home Training, Remote Collar Training, Stay and Train, and Group Classes. Private lessons can be held in the client’s home, at Goodladd’s farm, or on location, focusing on one-on-one work without distractions. At-home training addresses problems specifically in the home environment. Remote collar training focuses on distance communication and off-leash control. The Stay and Train program involves dogs staying at Janine’s home for two weeks to learn basic obedience and pack socialization. Group classes are offered for “Basic obedience,” “Rally obedience,” and “Canine Good Citizen” Certification, limited to 10 participants for six weekly sessions.

Additionally, Goodladd provides “The Perfect Puppy” program, a four-week intensive stay for puppies aged 8-12 weeks at Janine’s home in West Virginia. This program focuses on foundational skills like sleeping through the night, crate training, coming when called, social interaction, car riding, first walks, and exposure to different stimuli. Puppies live in a social group, learn basic commands like “sit” and “down,” and are discouraged from nipping. The program also includes guidance on feeding and appropriate toys. Door-to-door transportation and in-home transfer appointments are available for graduates.

Accomplishments

Janine’s early training took place at New Skete Monastery under the tutelage of Brother Christopher and with Robin MacFarlane of “That’s My Dog!”. She became the first female dog trainer at New Skete, handling dogs of every breed and background from all over the world. She has since worked with a multitude of dogs and families in diverse environments including shelters, high-rise apartments, and beach homes.
