Great Lakes Dog Training Company

We sent our two dogs, a 6 year old black lab and a 2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog to training with Great Lakes dog training this spring and had a wonderful experience. My favorite thing about their board and train experience was the communication we received daily from the trainer. We loved all the updates, learning what they were working on each day and seeing the pictures and videos. It was apparent that their priority was our dogs health, safety and wellbeing. We have been very pleased with what our pups were able to learn in their time with the trainers and look forward to building on their training and skills.

I had a great experience at GLDT! My 5 year old Pomeranian was reactive, stubborn, and had an issue with excited/submissive peeing when I brought her to GLDT. Through the 2 week program, the instructors were able to totally reshape her behavior and temperament. The report cards were helpful to know what she was doing day to day. I enjoyed seeing the video progress also. The take home lesson was very valuable so that I can maintain the training and good behavior my dog now has. I would highly recommend GLDT to anybody with a dog of any age!

Love, love, love what they’re doing at GLDT!! Katie did a great job of explaining their methods and how the board and train would work. Once Hazel was enrolled, using the app to pay, and get all info including vax records and expectations to GLDT through the Gingr app was a breeze. They did an excellent job of training and sending daily report cards covering what she learned that day and how she was doing. Returned our calls and answered questions when we inquired about her daily downtime. All the trainers obviously enjoy what they’re doing, but special kudos to Trainer Ellory! She has a talent and obviously loves her charges! Her report cards were great in their details and her enthusiasm for Hazel’s training was plain to see. The graduation day training was very helpful. My wife and I were fostering her in search of a permanent home. Me and her now owner went together. Ellory was thorough in covering what Hazel learned, and how it was taught and reinforced. She showed us how and then took us to Hazel. After some free time where Hazel was able to express her excitement at seeing us, Ellory did a demo, then let us take turns. Not perfect she said, but dramatically better. She is a dog after all. After they do the hard work, you will need to reinforce for a few weeks until the new good habits are engrained. The e-collar is included in the cost of training. You are sent home with a cheat sheet and emailed a link to a video tutorial. Life time support is included that transfers over to new owners. My wife and I are glad we did this.
