About the Trainer
The Greater Louisville Training Club (GLTC) is a long-standing dog training club, established in 1945, dedicated to helping Louisvillians train their dogs. The club provides a venue for members and their guests to train their dogs, focusing on preparation for various canine events.
GLTC hosts numerous American Kennel Club (AKC) and United Kennel Club (UKC) sanctioned events, including obedience, rally, and agility trials, as well as tracking tests. While formal training classes are not currently offered, the club facilitates open training sessions for members and guests on Wednesday evenings at Competitive Edge Agility.
Accomplishments
The Greater Louisville Training Club honors dog and handler teams who earn titles from the American Kennel Club (AKC) and United Kennel Club (UKC) annually. They specifically recognize teams excelling in AKC obedience competition, including those earning titles such as Obedience Trial Champion (OTCH), Master Agility Champion (MACH), Preferred Agility Champion (PACH), Rally Advanced Champion (RACH), and Utility Dog Excellent (UDX). The club maintains lists of its top title earners and top dogs dating back to 2006.
