Guiding Canines

Valentina has changed our lives in ways we never believed were possible. We had worked with a couple trainers prior to meeting Val as we have 2 very reactive Mini-Aussies. Our little guy was very fearful of other dogs and children and his reaction prior to Val was loud and looked scary. As we were preparing to welcome our first child, we desperately needed help. We sent our guy for a board and train with Val and she is truly a miracle worker!! She gave him the structure he needed to be more confident and she made sure to do practical training that would emulate real life situations. We had lost hope prior to finding Val as we were told that we would never live a “normal life” with our dogs. With our little girl, Val helped her boost her confidence! If I could follow Val, I would.. she’s amazing! And I’ve referred her in several groups I’m in and the response has been so incredibly positive too!

My dog Rocky went through the 4 week board and train with Val back in 2023. We have also attended some of the group sessions she started offering this past year. I can honestly say that without Val’s help, I probably would have had to re-home my dog. He was found on the street at around 8 weeks old and quickly became a handful and I wasn’t sure if I could do it. She helped so much and continues to do so. Val and her husband Caleb are two of Rockys favorite people and he loves to go there when I’m out of town. I’ve never been fond of the idea of boarding at a facility that will keep him in a crate all day and only let out to go to the bathroom. With Guiding Canines he gets to play with her dogs and always comes home exhausted!! I also love that she sends me photos and videos while he is there. Some of his best pics were taken at her house
Val is great! She’s honest, down to earth and so easy to talk to. She takes your concerns seriously and explains what works and what might not work for your dog. I don’t know what we would do without her!! I would recommend Guiding Canines to anyone looking for help training their dog!

Valentina and Caleb were our saviors when we got an Australian Shepherd and hadn’t had a dog in years. Harvey did the board and train program and is the best boy. He amazes us everyday and we owe it all to Guiding Canines. When he goes to board when we go on vacation he is sooo excited to see Val and he gets reinforcement training while there. Win. Win. I can’t recommend them enough. I carry their business card in my treat bag because everyone we come across says they can’t believe how well behaved Harvey is and want more info.

My boyfriend and I are so thankful for Val and Caleb. My dog Romeo stayed with them for 4 weeks for their board and train program. It was crucial in helping his reactivity and confidence in public. We were barely able to walk Romeo around our neighborhood without him barking and reacting to people walking within 25 feet. Now we can take him and walk through downtown Greenville and on the busy Swamp Rabbit Trail. She also helped us find ways to help Romeo feel better when people enter our house. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for a trustworthy and knowledgeable trainer. Val has even followed up with us after the fact and helped with any questions we have or advice for how to keep up with his training.
