Half Moon Bay offers a variety of training programs and workshops. Basic Beginners is a 6-week class focusing on foundational behaviors using positive, motivational reward-based methods. The Puppy Class, also 6 weeks, is exclusively for puppies aged 8 to 18 weeks, emphasizing safe socialization and addressing common puppy issues like biting, chewing, and house soiling.

The Intermediate Workshop is a 6-week class designed to refine basic skills, improve response time, and introduce new cues and problem-solving. The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program is a 6-week class that prepares dogs and owners for the AKC CGC test, covering 10 essential skills.

Specialized workshops include the 3-week Recall Focus Workshop, aimed at building a reliable recall, and the 4-week Loose Leash Walking Focus Workshop, which teaches a fluid and enjoyable leash walking style. Private Session/Behavioral Modification offers one-on-one coaching for specific issues or behavioral counseling, available in-home or at the facility. Shared Private Coaching Sessions allow friends to split the cost and time of a private session.

Additionally, they offer “So You Think You Want A Dog?” pre-purchase or pre-adoption counseling. Graduates of their programs can access the Country-Adventures Graduates Club, a five-acre fenced area for socialization and play. Group classes are one hour in duration and meet once weekly, with a certificate of completion presented at the end of each program.

Group classes are priced as follows: Basic Beginners and Puppy Class are $155 for 6 weeks. The Intermediate Workshop is $100 for 6 weeks. Canine Good Citizen is $90 for 6 weeks. Georgie Young is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). She is also a Therapy Dogs International Certified Evaluator, a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and a Star Puppy Evaluator. Furthermore, she is a Certified Pet First Aid Instructor. Georgie Young is a Professional Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and a Full Member of The Pet Professional Guild.

How to Get Started!

To get started, dog owners can call for an appointment for private sessions or complete a form. For workshops, clients should call or email for the current schedule. A questionnaire is provided for completion prior to private appointments to help focus the session.
