Testimonials

Linda helped us to understand and control our dog’s fear-based aggression, and teach our pup that we will keep her safe so she can relax. We can now have friends and family over without worrying about an incident. Even better, our pup is now obedient, calm, and happier than ever. We accomplished this in mere weeks with Linda’s guidance.

We went to Linda for help training our one-year old German Shepherd using an e-collar. We had been reluctant to use an e-collar without guidance but we wanted to be able to hike off-leash with Niki. Linda was very patient, spent time explaining her training approach, provided great information and helped us understand how to be successful with the training. It was a very positive experience and we appreciate Linda’s professionalism. Once Linda helped us understand our role, training Niki was the easy part. We are now enjoying off-leash hikes, outdoor dining at dog-friendly restaurants, and calm visits with friends.

Linda is an excellent dog trainer. She provides the tools necessary to have success with your dog. My 2 year old shepherd, all of a sudden started being aggressive towards other dogs. After a few weeks he has learned that he doesn’t need to be aggressive. He can choose flight over fight. Linda game me the training I needed as a dog owner to control my dog and act as the leader. And that he is actually seeking direction and leadership.

About the Trainer

Happy Hound Happy Home Dog Training and Rehabilitation, LLC is a Colorado-based dog training business led by Linda Cutrara, who specializes in behavior modification rather than basic obedience commands. Linda focuses on changing the dog’s state of mind to improve behavior, building confidence and leadership in the owner-dog relationship. She offers private sessions and board-and-train programs tailored to individual dogs, using balanced training methods that include tools like prong collars and remote e-collars from E Collar Technologies and Dogtra. She does not accept dogs with severe aggression, high fear, or separation anxiety. Linda provides lifelong support to clients and is licensed by PACFA and fully insured. Her approach emphasizes clear communication, consistency, and owner education to create lasting behavioral change.

She serves dog owners in Salida, Poncha Springs, Buena Vista, and surrounding areas of Chaffee County, Colorado, offering in-person training at her licensed facility and in-home sessions. Linda’s training philosophy centers on “YES” for desired behaviors and “NO” for unwanted ones, with treats used initially and gradually phased out.

Clients report success in achieving off-leash hikes, calm behavior around guests, and improved recall within weeks. Linda’s background includes over 20 years of dog ownership and apprenticeships under experienced trainers, and she prioritizes working with committed owners willing to make lifestyle changes for their dog’s success.
