Heidi Paws offers comprehensive training programs tailored to various needs. Basic Training focuses on essential obedience commands such as Sit, Stay, Leave it, Wait, walking nicely on a leash, Recall, Down, Settle, and Go to Place/Bed, as well as addressing jumping.

Puppy Training is designed to set new puppy parents up for success, covering socialization with people and dogs, problem prevention, and problem-solving for issues like housetraining, biting, jumping, and chewing. It also establishes foundational training using positive methods for leash walking, name recognition, coming when called, targeting, focus, leave it, sit, and down.

Behavior Modification addresses specific concerns including separation anxiety, chewing, nuisance barking, reactivity and aggression, fear, and leash aggression or difficulty walking on a leash. All training is conducted one-on-one, with the goal of teaching owners how to properly train and maintain their pet’s learned behaviors.

Heidi Paws is a dog training business led by Heidi Kerr, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA). Her philosophy centers on understanding how dogs think and learn, utilizing clear communication and positive reinforcement to teach, prevent, and modify behavior. She previously worked as a Behaviorist/trainer at The Humane Society Western Montana until May 2019. Heidi Paws Dog Training also achieved first place at the 2013 Canine Classic Runway Competition.

Accomplishments

Heidi Kerr is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). She is also a Certified Dog Trainer from Animal Behavior College (ABCDT) and a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT).

Heidi is certified by the American Red Cross in canine CPR and first aid.
