Testimonials
Best decision ever! When we found Melissa, we were completely overwhelmed with our reactive rescue dog, Duckie. We were nervous about sending her to a board and train program, but it turned out to be the best gift we could have given both her and ourselves. Duckie loved her time at Hemlock K9–it was clear from her happy, wiggly body in the update videos and the affectionate, more confident dog we now have at home.
Her experience was so positive that we decided to sign our other dog, Moose, up for the day training program too!
We’re beyond grateful for the care, attention, and expertise Melissa and her team provided. She’s not only a dog person–she’s a people person too. She didn’t just train our dogs; she trained us and gave us the tools we needed to maintain a peaceful, well-balanced home. That felt impossible before.
The follow-up training sessions have been incredibly helpful, and knowing Melissa is just a call or text away gives us ongoing peace of mind.
Thank you so much, Melissa and team!

Melissa was absolutely amazing with our rescue pup! When we first started, he was extremely anxious and would lunge at anything that moved during walks. Melissa took the time to explain why he was reacting that way and gave us clear, practical steps to help him feel more comfortable and confident. Her calm, patient approach made such a difference — for our dog and for us. We can finally enjoy walks together. We’re so grateful for her help and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trainer!

I would definitely recommend HemlockK9 Training. My dog Sky is 18 months old, very active BorderCollie/GermanShepherd mix. Melissa did a fabulous job with her. While she knew most of the basic commands when she started, she now consistently listens and obeys. Sky’s bad habits have virtually disappeared and it’s made our life together much more enjoyable! And besides training Sky, Melissa also trained me on how to reinforce Sky’s training. Highly recommend!
