Hog Dog Productions offers classes, practices, and private lessons in a variety of canine sports, including Agility, Nosework, Dock Diving, Swimming, Disc Dogs, Lure Coursing, and Sheep Herding.

Agility classes and private lessons are available with instructors Debi Hutchinson, Chelsea Singer, Christine Tschech, and Cynthia Horner, who each schedule their own sessions. Introductory and foundation classes are offered, though many classes currently have waitlists.

For Disc Dogs, Hog Dog Productions supports MAD Dogs (The Mid-Atlantic Disc Dog Club), which focuses on competitive fun and welcomes new members at all competition levels.

Dock Diving and Swimming lessons are primarily individual due to varying dog progress. The facility has two pools: a 41-foot competition pool and a 26-foot training pool. Pools are open seasonally, and private rentals are available in 30-minute blocks. Open Swims and private reservations are offered.

K9 Nose Work and Connection, Cooperation and Control (CCC) classes are taught by certified instructors Cindy Knowlton and Jessica Daggett. Cindy Knowlton is currently not accepting new students, with Jessica Daggett now teaching Nosework.

Sheep Herding lessons are provided by Susan Rhoades from Keepstone Farm, who visits two to three times a month. Karen Chandler also offers herding instinct and beginning herding lessons on other days, including weekends. Duck herding introductions are also available.

Fast CAT, a timed 100-yard dash where dogs chase a lure, is also offered. Access to facility rentals for the arena and pools is available through various membership tiers.

Policies

Hog Dog Productions does not have set operating hours; the property is available only during class or event times, or by private arrangement. For pool reservations, a 48-hour notice is required for cancellations or changes to receive a refund. Weather-related cancellations will be refunded even with less than 48 hours’ notice.

Strict rules are enforced on the property: a speed limit of 15 MPH down the hill and 5 MPH at the white building, with speeding potentially leading to membership revocation. Parking is restricted to designated areas, with no parking allowed on the big field next to the pools. Dogs must be leashed at all times unless it is their turn in a class/event or in the designated fenced off-leash area. Incessant barking is not permitted.

Potty rules include no elimination on or near man-made structures (except free-standing fence poles), mandatory pick-up after dogs, and a $5 fine for accidents in the arena. Failure to police dog poop may result in membership revocation. Dogs are not allowed in restrooms, and bringing them in may lead to membership revocation. Equipment use is restricted to the sport for which one is present.

Pool rules prohibit humans in the pools (no lifeguards), children under 10 on docks or in pools, and human jumping/diving. Forcing dogs into the water is strictly forbidden and may lead to membership revocation. Specific equipment like Extreme Vertical or Fetch-It rigs require permission for use. Arena rules require equipment to be returned to its original place if moved, and fans/lights to be turned off upon departure. Any broken equipment must be reported via email. For both pool and arena rentals, lingering/socializing for more than 15 minutes after rental time is not allowed.

A waiver must be signed before using the pools, relieving Hog Dog Productions of liability. Only healthy, vaccinated dogs are permitted, and dogs in season or unwell are not allowed. All dogs must be on leash unless on the dock, with a small fenced field available for off-leash running near the pools. Dogs must not eliminate on man-made structures, and any accidents on the dock must be rinsed. Dogs should never be forced into the water, and owners must introduce their dogs to exit ramps. Life jackets are not provided. Multiple dogs are allowed on the dock only if familiar and with owner agreement. Parking is prohibited on the field side of the road. There is no smoking in any building, and smokers must police their cigarette butts, or risk membership revocation. Certain areas of the property are off-limits to visitors. Video surveillance may be used on the property.
