About the Trainer
Hollister Dog Sports is a private dog training facility located in Hollister, California, offering rental access to specialized dog sports equipment and training areas for dog owners and professional trainers. The facility features a 20’x50′ pool and 40′ dock for dock diving training (available April–October) and a 150’x150′ grass field for agility training. Training is conducted through scheduled rental appointments, with optional instruction classes for beginners in dock diving. The owners, David and Chris Kurtz, and Kaylee Jeske Arnold, are experienced competitors in agility and dock diving, emphasizing positive, rewards-based training methods to strengthen the human-dog bond. The facility is designed for handlers seeking high-level training environments and does not offer in-home, boarding, or grooming services.
All training occurs on-site by appointment only, with strict rules requiring dogs to be healthy, vaccinated, well-socialized, and under control at all times. The facility supports competition-focused training in dock diving and agility, with specialized practice days for advanced handlers. No general obedience or behavior modification classes are offered outside of sport-specific instruction.
The facility enforces a 5-minute barking limit due to its residential location and requires all renters to sign a Facility Rental Agreement prior to use. Equipment such as flat buckle collars is required on the dock, and no electronic, prong, or choke collars are permitted during training.
Training is available by appointment only, with payment required at booking. Cancellations within 72 hours incur a $5 fee, and no refunds are issued for violations of facility rules.
