Dogs are trained individually at their own pace, with no assembly-line methods. Puppies and started dogs are raised in-house from early age with progressive field training.

Testimonials

“Barratt of Home Field Training and Kennels was the perfect fit for me and my family. From introductory calls about his setters and their pedigree to taking the plunge and now, bringing home a new bird dog. And wow, his whole line of setters are amazing. Barratt was dependable and trustworthy with weekly update calls and update pics helped to see the progress of the pup. I would highly recommend if you can, allow Barratt to start your young dog for a few months of training to get them started. 10/10 would recommend Barratt with Home Field Training and Kennels, don’t hesitate, buy that pup, get that pup trained…from Barratt!”

“I was put in contact with Barratt through another dog trainer/guide friend because I was looking for a started English Setter. I met with Barratt at his place twice to work the dog then took her home. I have been working her on pigeons and wild quail ever since and cannot wait to hunt her this fall. She will be heading to Montana with Barratt this fall to polish her skills on Huns and sharptails. Barratt did an amazing job with Sweet Jane and she is an incredible dog both in the house and in the field. Cannot wait to hunt this dog and breed her as I think she will have beautiful hardworking pups. I recommend Barratt as both a breeder and trainer of amazing gun dogs. If you need a gun dog start with Barratt!”

“Barratt was a pleasure to work with. Communication was great. It was an added bonus to get regular updates on how the dog was progressing. My 1.5 year old WPG was having trouble holding steady and after a month at Homefield there was a lot of improvement. Looking forward to having Barratt work with my dog again.”
