Home Field Training and Kennels offers Gundog Training with a personalized approach, allowing each dog to progress at its own pace. They do not use “assembly line” or “cookie cutter” training methods.
The Board and Train program is designed to develop hunting companions and includes two free training sessions for the owner after dog pick-up to ensure both dog and handler understand how to work as a team. One-on-One Training sessions provide dedicated time for the owner and dog, with access to all necessary equipment like e-collars, bird launchers, birds, and check cords.
Pricing & Policies
Pricing Summary
Board and Train programs cost $1200 per month. One-on-One Training sessions are $150 per session. Puppies start at $2,500, with prices varying based on natural abilities and development. Started dogs begin at $4,500, also with variable pricing.
Payment for private training sessions is due when the appointment is made. Payment for boarding or board and train programs is due at the time of drop-off. They accept cash, check, or Venmo.
Policies
Owners are responsible for transporting their dog to and from the facility, though special arrangements for pick-up/drop-off can be made when the trainers travel across western states. For private training sessions, a 20% nonrefundable deposit is required to book, and appointments canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled session will result in the loss of a $50 payment.
For board and train programs, it is recommended that dogs stay for the entire duration without going home on weekends or for personal trips, as this can set back training progress. Owners must provide their dog’s food at drop-off, ensuring enough supply for extended stays.
About the Trainer
Home Field Training and Kennels specializes in gundog training and the breeding/development of quality English Setters. Owner/operator Barratt Gorshe has a lifelong passion for dogs, particularly bird dogs, having traveled extensively across the western United States for field trials and hunting.

Training packages include Board and Train programs and One-on-One Training sessions. They also offer puppies, started dogs, and occasionally finished dogs for sale, all of which come with free private training sessions.
