Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Positive Reinforcement Only

In Relation With Dogs provides customized private training programs for puppies and adult dogs, utilizing positive reinforcement and science-supported methods. Training sessions can be conducted in the client’s home, in public locations, or virtually via Zoom or Skype, offering flexibility and convenience.

Key programs include “Puppy Einstein – Right Start Training” for new puppies, focusing on understanding puppy behavior, teaching basic manners (come, sit, down, stay, loose leash walking), calm greetings, self-calming skills, and addressing common issues like mouthing, jumping, and potty training. “Obedience & Beyond: Private In-Home” helps dogs learn basic to advanced obedience skills, emphasizing self-control and responsiveness.

Specialized training is offered for “Cooperative Care Training (For Grooming & Veterinary Care)” to help dogs become calm and willing participants during grooming and vet procedures. An intensive “Separation Anxiety – Isolation Distress” program is available, primarily conducted remotely via Zoom, to help dogs overcome panic when left alone. Private consultations address a wide range of behavior concerns such as aggression, reactivity, fear, anxiety, and general manners.

Testimonials

“Linda is amazing, both as a trainer and a person. Her knowledge base is unrivaled, as is her ability to translate this knowledge into helpful, usable suggestions for her clients. Dogs walk away from her classes with a stronger sense of self control, and clients walk away from her classes with a better understanding and a more fulfilling, comfortable relationship with their dogs. As a CVT and a Veterinary Behavior Technician, I often refer my clients to her for general training, as well as behavior problems. As a client of Linda’s, I am grateful for the relationship she has afforded me with my Border collie mix, Kishi.”
– Amy Fellner, Certified Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Behavior Technician

“Thank you, Linda, for your expertise, compassion and limitless support in helping Bailey learn to be calm and in-control when I leave her home alone. It is so comforting to know she is no longer “freaking out” when I leave, and now just sleeps all day as I am gone.”
– Cathy S., Omaha, NE

“Thank you, Linda, for your invaluable help in teaching our new puppy, Canyon, to relax when in his crate, and when being left alone. We were so concerned and heartbroken over his screaming and thrashing about every time we put him in the crate, or even tried to leave the room. Other trainers told us to just let him work it out, but when we tried this Canyon just got worse, even breaking a tooth as he tried to bite his way out of the crate. We are so fortunate to have found you. Without your help, we don’t think we would have been able to keep our precious boy. Thank you so much for your expertise. We owe you so much more than just a thank you. You have our gratitude and lifelong referrals should we ever hear of anyone else in need of your excellent services!”
– Jim and Cathy (and Canyon), Lincoln, NE

About the Trainer

In Relation With Dogs – Behavior and Training Solutions is led by Linda Brodzik, a professional dog trainer with over 35 years of experience. She is passionate about dog behavior, how dogs learn, and how to effectively teach both dogs and their owners. Linda’s philosophy centers on building strong, cooperative relationships between dogs and their people through trust and effective communication.

She exclusively uses positive reinforcement and reward-based training methods, which are scientifically proven, dog-friendly, and effective. Linda explicitly states that she does not use pain, force, shock, choke, startle, fear, intimidation, or any other aversive methods, as these can cause fear, distrust, anxiety, and aggression. Her approach focuses on building upon the dog’s ability to succeed and strengthening the bond.

Linda is a Certified Family Dog Mediator, which means she addresses behavior concerns from a multi-level perspective, considering learning history, environment, genetics, and the dog’s overall health and emotional state. For much of her career, she worked in veterinary facilities, collaborating with veterinarians to resolve complex behavior issues, which deepened her understanding of the human-animal bond. She continually updates her knowledge by attending classes, clinics, webinars, and workshops to provide the best support in companion dog training.
