Jasper’s Splash Zone

Jasper’s Splash Zone offers a variety of dog sports training, workshops, and events aimed at promoting fun and fitness for dogs and their companions, strengthening the bond between dogs and their owners. Their services include Aquatics, Dock Diving Spring League, Sports Training (Rally, Agility, Nosework, Disc Dog/UpDog, Barn Hunt), Sports Puppy Training Camp, and Fitness & Conditioning.

The Rally Foundation class is an introductory program that teaches basic skills for success in the Rally ring using fun, positive training techniques. This class builds teamwork and introduces participants to all Rally Novice stations, starting with mini courses performed on-leash. It is suitable for any breed or age of dog and helps improve obedience skills, whether for fun or competition.

Requirements for the Rally Foundation class include the dog knowing basic commands like sit, stay, heel, and down (perfection not required), and being able to remain in a crate at times while other handlers run the course. Training incorporates distractions to enhance dog focus and handler calmness.

Pricing Summary

The DIY Dog-Wash service costs $23.00 per pup for up to 30 minutes, and appointments are necessary. The Rally Foundation class has a fee of $167 for enrollment, which includes five consecutive weekly 50-minute class meetings. A full refund is provided if the minimum enrollment number for a class is not met.

Policies

For the DIY Dog-Wash, all dogs must be on a 4-foot leash when entering and exiting the facility. Self-serve dog washes must begin 30 minutes prior to the retail store’s closing time. Tick baths or skunk baths are not permitted, and clients are referred to their veterinarian for these services. All dogs must be current on their vaccinations.

For classes, if the minimum enrollment number is not met, a full refund will be issued.

Located in Lafayette, Colorado, it is Boulder County’s largest recreational canine sports facility. The center features both indoor and outdoor 41 x 21 foot heated salt water pools with regulation docks for the sport of dock jumping, indoor and outdoor sports fields for an array of dog sports, a scent lab, a fitness room, a self-serve dog wash, lodging, and training facilities. The nearly 3.5-acre K9 Sports Center is specifically curated for dogs.

The goal of Jasper’s Splash Zone is to provide services that assist dogs in competing at their highest performance level, as well as to enable dogs to be fit for life. They focus on performance dogs and also on helping all dogs achieve optimum fitness throughout all phases of their lives, from puppyhood through their senior years. The business is named after Jasper, a Labrador Retriever who was a trailblazer in Colorado for the sport of Dock Diving and was inducted into the DockDogs Hall of Fame.

Accomplishments

Jasper, the Labrador Retriever for whom the business is named, was inducted into the DockDogs Hall of Fame in 2013. Team Jasper, with Rich Schafer as handler, has appeared on various national TV networks including ESPN, Versus, The Outdoor Channel, NBC, NBC Sports Network, and The Travel Channel, as well as local TV stations and newspapers.

Jasper was sponsored by Zuke’s and The K9 Body Shop. His titles include DockDogs Super Elite Jumper, Speed Retrieve Nitro, Extreme Vertical Cadet, and Iron Dog, along with NACSW NW1. Notable achievements for Jasper include winning the 2007 Purina Incredible Dog Challenge Western Regional, placing 3rd at his first DockDogs Nationals in 2006, being named the DockDogs 2007 Top Black Labrador Retriever, and becoming the 2009 DockDogs National Veteran Champion. He was also awarded the DockDogs 2009 Gracie Award and earned his Super Elite Big Air title at age 7 in 2008.

Rich Schafer, Jasper’s handler, is recognized as one of the creators of the DockDogs Iron Dog points system and the creator of the Iron Dog Points Calculator iPhone/Android Apps.

How to Get Started!

To get started, clients should register for a class by checking the “Courses” tab on the booking page. If a desired class is full or in progress, clients can add themselves to a waitlist under the “Services” tab.

After scheduling a class, clients are required to fill out a Client Intake form, submit a copy of their dog’s vaccination records, review and sign the rules and procedures, and complete a waiver form. Once registered and forms are completed, clients will receive an email with any instructions on what to bring to class.
