Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Positive Reinforcement Only
Joie de Vie Beaucerons offers a “Perfect Puppy Package” designed to raise and train puppies, allowing new owners to enjoy their dog without the initial time-consuming work. This intensive program includes comprehensive ear care, veterinary and vaccination care, crate training, potty training, daily socialization, and engagement training. After three months in the program, puppies are expected to exhibit excellent manners both at home and in public, have well-set ears, and possess a strong foundation for potential service dog work.
Their foundational puppy development incorporates Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) for the first two weeks of a puppy’s life, starting at three days old, to enhance immune systems and stress tolerance. They also implement “Puppy Training – The Von Falconer Way,” which focuses on discipline, submission, touch conditioning, and sound conditioning from day 22 to 42. Additionally, the “Rule of 7” is applied to ensure puppies receive extensive positive exposure to various surfaces, locations, people, challenges, and objects by three months of age, thereby boosting their confidence, social behavior, and trainability.
Pricing & Policies
Pricing Summary
Puppy prices range from $2500 to $3000, with show and breeding prospects priced at $3000 and puppies with disqualifying faults at $2500. Optional ear cropping costs an additional $1500, plus $200 for supplies. A $750 deposit is required, which is held to cover OFA health testing (Hips, Elbows, Heart, and Eyes) when the puppy reaches 24 months of age. Additional puppy training is offered at $3000 per month after the puppy is 2 months old, or $100 per week for continued socialization, potty training, and ear posting beyond 8 weeks of age.
Policies
A $750 deposit is required to secure a spot on the waitlist for a puppy. This deposit is refundable if Joie de Vie Beaucerons determines they do not have a suitable puppy to match the applicant’s goals and lifestyle, or if the applicant chooses not to wait for a subsequent litter. A health guarantee allows for the return of a puppy within 7 days if its health is deemed unacceptable, with options for a replacement or a full refund, provided the dog has not been mistreated, neglected, injured, or physically altered by the buyer.
For show and breeding prospects, if a disqualifying fault develops, buyers are entitled to a $500 refund upon proof of sterilization. Buyers are required to commit to obtaining OFA ratings for Hips, Elbows, Eyes, and Heart between 24-30 months of age, with the breeder directly covering the costs of these tests from the deposit. The breeder retains co-ownership of all breeding quality females to prevent unauthorized breeding or transfer of ownership. Dogs cannot be bred, re-homed, or euthanized without the breeder’s written consent. Joie de Vie Beaucerons commits to taking back any dog that can no longer be kept by the buyer, with all associated shipping/transportation costs being the buyer’s responsibility. Buyers are expected to maintain sportsmanlike conduct at all times.
About the Trainer

How to Get Started!
To begin the process of acquiring a puppy, prospective owners must first review the “Conditions of Sale and Guarantees” and then submit a puppy application. Following the application, a phone call will be scheduled to discuss questions and expectations. If the applicant is deemed a good fit, they will be invited to sign a contract and send a $750 deposit to be added to the waitlist. Once a litter is born, applicants will be notified and asked to confirm their readiness for a puppy from that litter. Puppy placement is determined by compatibility with the applicant’s lifestyle and goals, rather than the order of deposit receipt. Priority is given to applicants eager to participate in AKC activities and social media influencers. Puppies are ready for new homes at 8 weeks of age after structure and temperament evaluations by third-party professionals.
