JN Dog Training offers private, in-home training sessions tailored to each dog and owner. Specialized programs include “Loose Leash” for heeling and preventing pulling, “Relentless Recall” for reliable recall in distracting environments, and “Intro to Beginner Novice” for AKC Obedience or Rally Obedience. Behavior modification is addressed through “Bad Behaviors Consultation” and “Bad Behaviors – Sessions,” covering issues like separation anxiety, fear aggression, jumping, and counter-surfing, but excluding dogs with a history of physically harming others. “Task Training” is available for specific custom tasks.

About the Trainer

JN Dog Training aims to train dogs to be well-mannered and happily obedient. Training is conducted in real-life settings rather than classrooms, ensuring dogs listen amidst daily distractions. The approach is individualized for each dog and owner, focusing on seamless communication.

Jessica Nelson, the trainer, works with her dogs Lyle (an 8-year-old Lab mix with multiple competition titles) and Dave (a Doberman). She emphasizes positive training methods, viewing training as structured play. Jessica has 8 years of experience and has studied training, conditioning, psychology, and canine biopsychology at three Wisconsin Universities.

Beyond training, JN Dog Training offers breed selection services to help families choose the right dog breed based on lifestyle factors like household members, yard size, other pets, activity levels, and purpose for bringing a dog into the family.
