Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Positive Reinforcement Only
Joan4Pets offers two main dog training formats: Trainer/Dog Solo Sessions and Coaching. Solo sessions involve the trainer working one-on-one with the dog, aiming for quick and lasting results, with the owner primarily reinforcing lessons. Coaching sessions involve the trainer working with both the owner and the dog, teaching the owner how to train their pet, suitable for hands-on owners.
Specialized services include Behavior Modification Walks, designed to maintain learned skills for dogs with specific issues like reactivity or leash manners, requiring prior training. Pre-Puppy Consultations are also available to help owners prepare for a new puppy, covering topics such as necessary supplies, house and crate training, and puppy schedules.

About the Trainer
Joan4Pets, established in 2000, offers individualized dog training and pet sitting services in San Francisco. Her methods are positive reinforcement (R+) and force-free, designed to help dogs adapt to urban living. Joan provides both solo training sessions where she primarily trains the dog, and coaching sessions where she works with the owner and pet together, teaching the owner how to train their dog.
