The Barking Lot Training offers “REAL-World” dog training designed to help dogs succeed in a human environment. Programs include “Real Life Adventures,” “Shy (or) Reactive” dog training, “Perfect Puppy” coaching, “Magic Of Games,” “Private Coaching,” “Best Group In Town” (currently on hold due to COVID), “Agility For Fun,” “Mini Tune-Up” (refresher course while boarding), “Private Training,” “WAG-IT Games,” and “Breed Specific Manners.” They provide individual training and group exposure for distraction training, with a mandatory transfer session to show owners their dog’s accomplishments and a free bonus session for polishing skills. Training is integrated into daily routines, and clients receive handouts to assist home training. They teach owners to understand why their dog behaves in certain ways, how to read dog body language, and clear canine communication based on respect and trust. Dogs are trained at their individual learning level, with a focus on problem-solving skills and setting dogs up for success through reward-based methods and positive reinforcement. Dogs are given choices in problem-solving, and training incorporates natural abilities in their outdoor enrichment area. They also offer Board & Train programs.
