K-9 Elementary offers group classes held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, designed to enhance communication and reinforce positive behaviors. These include Puppy Classes for basic training and socialization, Basic Obedience for older puppies and dogs with limited training, Intermediate Obedience to continue training after mastering basics, and Advanced Obedience focusing on off-leash communication, public interaction, and polishing manners.
Private One-on-One Training sessions are available for personalized guidance at a schedule that accommodates the owner, suitable for busy families or those wanting to involve children. These sessions cover basic commands and specific behavioral goals, emphasizing consistent commands and proper owner handling. They can be conducted in the client’s home, workplace, community, or at the K-9 Elementary Training Studio.
The business also provides testing for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program, which includes a 10-step practical test for well-behaved dogs, with additional certifications for Canine Good Citizen Community (CGCA) and Canine Good Citizen Urban (CGCU) available for dogs that have passed the CGC test. Therapy Dogs International (TDI) testing is also offered for healthy dogs at least one year old who demonstrate consistent basic skills. Additionally, K-9 Elementary offers an 8-hour PetSaver™ Program, covering essential pet first aid topics such as restraining, primary assessment, rescue breathing, CPR, choking management, bleeding and shock management, snout-to-tail assessment, and assessing vitals.

Cindy Steinke is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) with over 30 years of experience teaching dogs and their owners. She has studied under various trainers and passed an international certification exam. Cindy is a Professional Member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), a Certified Evaluator for the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen Programs, a Certified Evaluator for Therapy Dog International (TDI), and a Pet Tech Instructor specializing in Pet First Aid/CPR.
