K-9 Obedience Training Club offers comprehensive training programs starting with puppies and beginners, and extending to advanced obedience and various dog sports. Puppy classes include AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy for ages 8-16 weeks, focusing on socialization, basic commands, manners, housetraining, and bite inhibition. K4 Advanced Puppy, for 4-6 month olds, continues these skills with a topic-driven curriculum addressing developmental and behavioral issues.

Beginner classes, for dogs 6 months and older, are a 16-week program split into two 8-week sessions. Beginner 1 teaches on-leash heeling and reliable recalls, while Beginner 2 builds on these skills with distractions, sit-stays, and down-stays. Advanced obedience classes (Novice, Novice/Beginner Open, Show Class, Open, Utility, UDX) refine skills, introduce off-leash work, retrieving, jumping, scent discrimination, and prepare teams for AKC Obedience titles.

Specialty classes include Dance and Tricks (canine freestyle dance), Flyball (a relay race with hurdles), Nosework (searching for specific odors like birch, anise, and clove), and Rally (a course-based sport with designated stations). Many of these advanced and specialty classes are exclusively for club members.

Pricing Summary

AKC Star Puppy Classes are 6 weeks for $110. K4 Advanced Puppy Classes are 8 weeks for $125. Beginner Classes are 16 weeks for $240, split into two 8-week sessions. Many advanced and specialty classes are designated as “Members Only Classes,” implying that membership is required to participate in them.

Policies

In-person, pre-registration is required for all Puppy and Beginner classes. No explicit cancellation or rescheduling policies are provided.

How to Get Started!

To register for Puppy and Beginner classes, prospective clients must stop by the club on Thursday evenings (6-8:30 p.m.) or Sunday mornings (9-11:30 a.m.). They should bring their dog’s vaccination record. The Membership Desk is located in the building south of the clubhouse. In-person pre-registration is required for these classes.
