Dog Training Methodology

K9 America offers several training programs. The In-Home Stay and Train program is an immersive option where the dog stays with an award-winning trainer and receives specialized care and training in the trainer’s home and various environments like parks, beaches, and stores. This program aims to build a confident, happy dog and addresses specific household issues.

The In-Home Day Training program involves a professional trainer coming to the client’s house daily to teach skills in the home and neighborhood, addressing specific household issues. A transition lesson is provided at the end of each week. Private Lessons allow direct owner involvement, with trainers instructing clients on how to train their dog from basic to advanced obedience, addressing specific household concerns.

Group Training is a drop-in class designed to take dogs and owners to the highest level in pet training, including foundation obedience and an off-leash K9 America Final Test. This program also includes scheduled “Pack Walks” at dog-friendly restaurants and bars for training in distracting environments. Additionally, K9 America offers AKC CGC Testing, where licensed evaluators test dogs and handlers on ten objectives, and Competition Training for those interested in dog sports like Schutzhund/IPO and AKC Obedience, leveraging the trainers’ national-level experience.
