Testimonials

I am absolutely thrilled and amazed with my dog, Diesel, and his progress with K9 Command. Diesel and I went with the Gold Unleashed Potential program and now that we are finished I am excited with how well my dog behaves. I can literally take my dog anywhere and he is well mannered and behaves.
– Amy

I give K9 Command a hundred stars! I’ve never met a more professional, dog training business, and trust me, I researched and looked far and wide! It takes a special, reputable person for me to leave my baby with for three weeks! The progress Nala has made at K9 Command exceeds what I thought she’d ever be able to do, especially in just 3 weeks!
– Client

Thank you so much K9 Command you took great care of my dog. This is the 2nd dog i have put in their board and train program and the 4th dog that Amy has helped me train. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. Exceptional place to get training for your dog.

About the Trainer

K9 Command is a professional dog training business located in Vale, North Carolina, founded in 1994 by Mark Connolly and Amy Henderson. They offer private lessons, group classes, board and train programs, consultations, and remote learning options to help dog owners build reliable control over their dogs—on or off leash—regardless of breed or age. Their unique “one price for the life of the dog” package includes lifetime support, ensuring ongoing guidance long after training ends. They specialize in coaching owners as much as dogs, emphasizing calm, assertive leadership and fostering enjoyable, long-term relationships between pets and their families. In addition to training, they operate a pet supply store offering high-quality dog food and treats, including brands like Acana, which many clients report improved their dogs’ health. Their facility includes a 4,000 sq ft indoor training room and 8.5 acres of outdoor fields, and they serve clients locally and nationally.

Mark is a former Police K9 handler and K9 Training Director with decades of experience training working dogs to national standards, while Amy brings a compassionate, communication-focused approach rooted in understanding canine behavior. Both are deeply involved in their community, volunteering with animal shelters and serving on local animal advisory boards. They are recommended by veterinarians across multiple counties and trusted with their own dogs’ training.

K9 Command trains dogs of all ages and types, from puppies to seniors, and addresses a wide range of behaviors including obedience, reactivity, separation anxiety, potty training, and recall. They also offer specialized programs like trick classes, nosework, and accountability group classes to keep training engaging and effective.
