K9 Performance Center

K9 Junction offers a variety of training programs designed to meet individual dog needs. These include group classes such as puppy socialization, basic obedience, intermediate obedience, and just-for-fun agility.

For more specific or challenging issues, they provide private lessons and board-and-train programs. Private lessons offer one-on-one work with a trainer for an hour. Board-and-trains are intensive programs where the dog lives at the facility for a minimum of three weeks to address and break bad habits while learning obedience. They are equipped to help with difficult or persistent behavioral issues, including aggression.

Pricing Summary

**Training**: Private lessons are $75 per hour. Board-and-train programs start at $3,000 for a minimum duration of three weeks.

**Performance Center Rentals**: For 1-5 handlers, a 1/2 hour rental is $15, and a full hour is $25. For 5+ handlers, a full hour is $40. For instructors with their own students, the rate is $25 per hour and a half, requiring a minimum of 6 sessions and a $50 deposit, with full payment due after the first class. All-day and weekend rentals are available by contacting the business.

**Grooming**: Nail trims are $20, and Nail Dremel services are $25. Bath and haircut services start at $40+, with Doodle Cuts starting at $65+. Additional fees apply for Flea/tick/skunk baths ($15) and Mud Baths ($5+). Ultra Sonic Dentals are $55+. Rates vary based on breed, hair type, and pet’s cooperation.

**Boarding**: Standard Kennel (4×16) is $35 per night. Extra medications or detailed feeding incur an additional $2 per night. A Bordetella vaccine can be provided for $25. Pick up and drop off outside of normal business hours incurs a $35 fee in addition to the night’s boarding. There is a 2-night minimum for all weekend stays. Discounts include $5 off per night for two dogs in a standard kennel and customized discounts for stays of 2 weeks or more.

**Boarding Extra Services**: Additional services for boarding include a 15-minute nature walk for $12 per day, text and photo updates for $7 per day, text updates for $3 per day, 25 minutes of indoor playtime for $15 per day, 25-minute training sessions for $40 per day, and daycare for $20 per day. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Policies

All boarding reservations require a one-night non-refundable deposit to secure a spot. A minimum stay of two nights is required for all weekend boarding reservations.

For the safety of K9s, senior dogs who have never been boarded at K9 Junction are not accepted, with a preference for them to stay with their veterinarian. While bedding can be brought from home, K9 Junction notes that it may not be returned in the same condition if the K9 chooses to destroy it. All pets must enter and exit the facility in a carrier or on a leash; flexi leashes are not permitted. Required vaccinations for boarding include Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP, though a waiver option is available for pets unable to be vaccinated.

K9 Junction is a small kennel owned and operated by Rob and Telah Garwacki, established in January 2012. They offer comprehensive services including dog boarding, training, and grooming. Their vision is to provide a kennel experience that offers some of the comforts of home, ensuring every dog has multiple opportunities daily for outdoor potty breaks and exercise without additional charges.

In 2016, K9 Junction expanded its offerings by opening the K9 Performance Center, a 4500 square foot, fully matted, climate-controlled facility. This center is utilized for training classes, seminars, and is also available for rent to help others achieve their training goals. They emphasize providing one-on-one attention to each K9.

Beyond training and boarding, K9 Junction provides all-breed dog grooming services by experienced groomers, ranging from simple nail trims to full grooms. They also breed Swedish Vallhunds under the name Valkyrie Vallhunds, focusing on health, sound temperament, solid genetics, and preserving the breed. Their goal is to offer companions that can excel in various dog sports.

Accomplishments

K9 Junction was founded by Rob and Telah Garwacki, who purchased the kennel property in January 2012 and opened for business two months later. The K9 Performance Center was established in 2016.

The two experienced trainers at K9 Junction actively show their own dogs in AKC and USDAA agility and AKC obedience, among other sports. Telah Garwacki’s Valkyrie Vallhunds achieved significant recognition in 2023, with the #1 male and #1 female Vallhunds in conformation, marking a historic first in AKC Vallhund history. Clover, one of their Vallhunds, also set a record as the youngest Grand Champion Vallhund. Between Odin and Clover, they collectively earned over 30 Owner Handled Group Wins, 322 breed points, 8 Group Wins, and 46 Best of Breed titles, all exclusively owner-handled and achieved before the age of two.
