K9 Powersports offers a structured agility training progression. Puppy Pre-Agility 1 is a 5-week class for puppies 4 months to 1 year, introducing them to agility equipment, attention skills, basic commands, and socialization, with lowered contact equipment and no full-height jumps or weave poles. Puppy Pre-Agility 2 is a 5-week continuation, expanding on these skills.
Beginning Agility 1 is a 6-week class for dogs at least 1 year old, introducing them to agility equipment, attention skills, and basic commands, while handlers learn basic footwork and body language. Beginning Agility 2, a 6-week continuation, introduces weave pole skills using channel weaves, gradually raises contact equipment, and begins off-leash work and basic obstacle sequences.
Intermediate Agility 1 & 2 are 8-week classes where skills from beginning classes are integrated. These classes focus on weave pole training with channel weaves, introduce more complex and longer sequences, and add advanced handling moves, with dogs working fully off-leash. Advanced and Competition Agility classes are ongoing, designed for dogs and handlers proficient in obstacles and sequences. These classes present challenges at an Excellent/Master’s level agility trial difficulty, with different courses each week.

About the Trainer
K9 Powersports is a dog agility training business located in Grand Junction, CO, founded by Geoff Teare in the Spring of 2012. They offer a comprehensive range of agility classes for puppies and dogs of all skill levels, from introductory Puppy Pre-Agility to advanced and competition-level training. Classes are conducted either indoors in an 80’x60′ agility building with synthetic soccer/football turf, heated for winter and cooled for summer, or outdoors on natural grass with secure fencing. All equipment used is state-of-the-art and competition-quality, prioritizing dog safety.
